Ande & Amos at Promontory Point

In addition to their awesome names, Ande and Amos are just plain awesome. Their beautiful promontory point wedding was one of the highlights of my year. Ice cream cake, children in formal wear, farmhouse centerpieces, and my favorite part, Kites (!) made the day full of whimsy and joy. I loved their details including an amazing graphic of Chicagoland (where Ande is from) connecting to Nairobi, Kenya (where Amos is from).  The weather was perfect and the venue holds a very special place in my heart, because John and I were married there almost exactly five years ago. 001.promontory002.gettingready003.details004.cherries005.downtheaisle006.ceremony007.vows008.ringexchange009.married!010.beautifulday011.shoessocks012.toasts013.icecreamcake014.archway015.portraits016.calmmoment017.moreportraits018.firstdances019.children020.peaking021.kites022.kites!

Pia & John at Salvage One

John and Pia are two of the most sincere and lovely people I’ve ever met.  Their ceremony at Salvage One was heartfelt and unique in many ways, but I’ll point out just a few details.  Pia made their programs and their rings I believe.  As a pre-wedding gift she got John a small red Olympus camera (woman after my own heart) and John got Pia a swank backpack.  The bridesmaids got jars of Basil (!) and the groomsmen wore pinwheels and striped socks. They planted a tree during their ceremony! But the most unique part of the evening from my perspective was a German wedding tradition in which the newly married couple cut a heart out of paper and then the groom carries the bride through! So cool.
